Cycling in Montana

Montana is large and not very populated states and nature is beautiful. The state lies on the Continental Divide, the rain separation line.

Cycling conditions
There are not many special bicycle facilities and the attention of this government is still moderate. Because of the low traffic volume, cycling is not dangerous.

Montana is one of the largest and less populated states with a beautiful nature. To the east lies a large prairie plateau, part of the Great Plains. This eastern part is so dry that it is only suitable for livestock. To the west the land rises gradually and becomes part of the Rocky Mountains. The state is on top of the Continental Divide, the rain separation. West of the Rockies water flows to the Pacific, east to the Gulf of Mexico.

Montana has a pleasant summer climate in the west, with warm days and cool nights. In the east, summers are drier and warmer and severe frost in the winter.
