Maui Road Biking Tour

Our road cycling tour of the island loops around the valley nestled between two sleeping giants, Puu Kukui caldera to the West, and Mt. Haleakala to the East. Inside Maui’s 120 miles of coastline, we experience a surprising range of micro climates, from exotic gardens to rain shadow dry lands, from sandy lagoons to snowy summits! With over 20 ecosystems and lots of hills, road cycling is always an adventure here. One minute we’ll be riding through a lush tropical rainforest, and the next we’ll turn the corner onto a huge, sunny lava flow, or drop down onto a private peninsula for some fresh, hot Hawaiian banana bread! The people on the island are just as diverse. Evenings are filled with the sights and scents of real island hospitality, where we are pampered with islands feasts, luaus, and hula dancing, and are offered our own oceanside hale (private beachhouses).

From the burly rawness of Big Sur to the picturesque Santa Barbara’s coastline, our brushstrokes in the saddle sweep past peaceful farmland and great spans of ocean. A dreamy, essentially California-quality light outlines each successive landscape.

Mount St. Helens

The star of the Cascade Mountain Range, Mount St. Helens might be best known for its eruption over 40 years ago. And while the summit is craterous, and dried volcanic streams are still visible, the area features verdant forests riddled with creeks, lakes, and waterfalls. There is plenty to explore and enjoy in the shadow of this iconic peak. During your six day summertime Mountain Biking Tour, we’ll cover all of the highlights and hidden treasures (did someone say cave exploration?) while enjoying gourmet meals and first class camping under the stars.
