Elevation Range: 0 – 6,000 ft.

Day 1: Death Valley National Park, Spicer Ranch

After meeting in Las Vegas we shuttle to Beatty, Nevada and the all new Spicer Ranch Mountain Bike Park. This park is purpose built mountain bike trails meshed with wild burro trails making a fantastic array of riding! Plutonium Ridge (our favorite), takes us far into the backcountry of the Mojave Desert overlooking Beatty Wash. After descending a fast ridge line back to Spicer Ranch, and if your legs are willing, try out the Dynamite Trail. Exhilarating 2 mile loop!

Day 2: Titus Canyon

Titus Canyon – A short 30 minute shuttle takes us to Titus Canyon where we’ll ride up and over White Pass and Red Pass to the top of the Grapevine Mountains. The reward for our climb? A scenic 5,600-foot descent through Titus’ increasingly narrow canyon walls to the valley floor. After this spectacular ride, we’ll shuttle back to our camp in Monarch Canyon.

Day 3: Chloride Cliffs

Chloride Cliffs – Leaving camp, we ride up the old Chloride Cliffs jeep road for a rare king-of-the-hill view of both the Badwater lowlands and Mt. Whitney. Today’s highlight is a chance to prospect abandoned crystal mines in the top of the mountain. Later, we’ll descend nearly 2,000 feet back to camp! In the afternoon, an optional two-mile hike through Monarch Canyon offers the opportunity to explore a ghosted stamping mill and a clear portal view from atop a seasonal waterfall.

Day 4: Sand Dunes and Cottonwood Valley

After packing up, we descend to the bottom of Death Valley on mountain bikes to Mesquite Sand Dunes. Here we will have an hour to explore the beauty of Death Valley and the relaxing wind blown dunes under our feet. Take a quick stop at Stovepipe Wells for some ice cream and lunch than its off to Red Rock Canyon, West Las Vegas. Once in Red Rock, get ready for some of the fastest, finest single-track in the west! We’ll follow some of our favorite trails in Cottonwood Valley for the remainder of the afternoon before retiring in the Element Hotel. We will be having dinner at Bonnie Springs, Old Nevada Ghost Town. Can you say rustic?

Day 5: Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area -Mustang Trails

We start our final day riding Red Rock’s Mustang Trail single-track system. Initially stomped out by horses and burros over 100 years ago, these trails are now shared by mountain bikers and wild mustang descendant’s who roam free and are protected in the National Conservation Area. We then ride to the small town of Blue Diamond for lunch before shuttling back to Las Vegas.

Lodging

This trip features scenic, primitive campsites with no running water. At each of the primitive camps we utilize our own portable toilet, and exercise a leave-no-trace policy. There are hot showers available Day 3 and Night 4; all other nights a solar shower will be available. Cell phone service is extremely spotty during the entire trip, with no service available at our campsites. Our last night we’ll stay inside Red Rock Canyon at the Bonnie Springs, a classic inn with its own reconstructed frontier town.
It may be the Mojave “desert” and home to some of the hottest temperatures on record, but it sure gets cold at night. Bring a beanie cap and some layers.

Conditions

Deposit $500.- pp
The deposit payment for a tour must be paid within two weeks after the booking is confirmed.
The remaining payment is due 90 days before the start of the tour.
For tours that are booked within 90 days before the start of the tour you will pay 100% of the tour price

Information

Our food isn’t just good, it’s good for you.

Food is a big part of the experience. Our guides prepare all of your meals on our camping trips. Expect three delicious meals a day consisting entirely of freshly prepared foods. These include fresh organic fruits and vegetables as well as meats. We also have energy snacks aboard our support vehicles. Don’t be surprised if your guides purchase fresh fruits and healthy snacks throughout the day while you are out riding. They may just show up on the trail with a local treat! Many of our guests are vegans or vegetarians, whom we are more than happy to accommodate. If you have special diet requirements or limitations, just let us know when you sign-up and we’ll work with you to meet your needs.
